My Father once told me, buy the worst house on the best street, so with my latest project this is exactly what I have done. This house has amazing potential but needs some serious TLC!
A full rewire of the house and heating system needs installing before we even start on the aesthetics. The kitchen is currently quite small so I plan on knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room to make a large kitchen diner with patio windows opening on to the garden.
A full new bathroom suite is next on the list of fixes and reconfiguring the toilet and bathroom into one room. New windows throughout moving from single glazed timber frames to double glazed PVC to better insulate the house.
I would really like to incorporate a log burning stove into this property to create a homely feel whilst keeping up with the current trends. Ideally the log burning stove would be situated in the front room where the current electric heater is.
My next job is to strip all the walls of the layers of wood chip wall paper and then prepare them for painting. A full white was throughout the house coupled with neutral carpets and flooring. I will update on this refurbishment over the coming weeks to show the progress we are making.
